Where and when to see seahorses and pygmy seahorses

Pygmy seahorses live on sea fans and are barely bigger than a grain of rice; larger seahorses hide in seagrass and on muck slopes. Both are macro favourites that a good guide can find year-round.

This guide documents sightings in 14 Good Dives regions.

Calendars describe animal presence, not weather or site access; check each region’s dive season. For grouped animals, a marked month may apply to only one member of the group. Sightings vary by site and dive.
